Mono Q® (PGCL)
Mono Q® is a short-term synthetic absorbable monofilament composed of a copolymer made from 75% glycolide and 25% -caprolactone (PGCL). Mono Q® is available for dyed(violet) and undyed(beige).

Indications
Mono Q® (PGCL) synthetic absorbable monofilament sutures are indicated for use in soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological surgery.
Actions
Mono Q® (PGCL) synthetic absorbable monofilament suture may elicit minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue. Progressive loss of tensile strength and absorptions of PGCL suture occurs by means of hydrolysis.

The retention strength of Mono Q® is about 50% of the initial strength after 7 days

Mono Q® suture is supplied sterile in precut lengths attached to various needle types in one-dozen boxes.
